It’s kind of funny that only a year ago none of us had ever heard the word “Twitter” but now its fast on its way to becoming a household name (if it isn’t already). In fact, over the last little while the news team at CNN have been in a “fierce” battle with celebrity actor Ashton Kutcher to see who could first reach one million Twitter followers. Whoever was first to reach the mark had pledged to donate ten thousand mosquito nets to those in need in Africa.

So who won? Well, despite CNN’s best efforts and a very close race, Ashton managed to pull in to the one million followers mark first. That’s a lot of people listening to Ashton’s Tweets! Twitter has become so popular among celebrities that even Oprah has now opened an account, and is devoting an entire show to Tweeting! This can only mean amazing things for Twitter.
