Firefox Continues To Climb

New numbers from research company Net Applications indicate that Mozilla’s Firefox browser continues to chip away at Microsoft Internet Explorer’s dominant market share. Considering that there was a time when almost every PC primarily used Internet Explorer as their browser of choice (and most were unaware of other options), it’s very impressive that Firefox now owns a twenty two percent share of the browser market. This is despite the recent release of a new version of Microsoft’s IE, Internet Explorer 8.

In fact, Internet Explorer continues to lose its footing, as it has seen its use drop to below sixty seven percent of total browser activity. It’s still a large number, but one that has been consistently shrinking over the last couple of years. If you’re wondering how other browsers are fairing, Apple’s Safari claimed 8.23 percent of the browser market, with Google’s Chrome improving a small amount to 1.23 percent.
