Military Secrets Revealed on Computer Bought on eBay
A computer hard drive purchased on eBay contained secret information regarding the U.S. missile defense system. The documents were from Lockheed Martin and included information on test launch procedures, pictures and personal staff data, such as their social security numbers and blueprints of installations.
A Lockheed Martin spokesperson, declined commenting on the hard drive’s information, saying the company is not aware of any negative repercussions that happened as they relate to the data and that the hard drive is evaluated. The information came to light when a fourth annual survey conducted by several universities for looking into whether personal data stored on computers is being irresponsibly removed. The survey uses hard drives purchased at eBay, computer auctions, computer fairs, etc’.
