MP3 Prices Hiked Up
Unfortunately for those of you who purchase your music online (and who doesn’t these days), just about everywhere you turn prices are about to be hiked up. With mounting pressure from the music industry in mind, Amazon, Walmart and Apple have all raised prices on their MP3 offerings.
What kind of prices can you expect to see? Basically with the new models, hit songs will be priced higher, with rarely downloaded songs costing less. For most consumers this will mean a higher average cost per MP3. iTunes and Amazon will both have prices as high as $1.29 for hit songs, with Walmart coming in a few cents cheaper at a top price of $1.24.
