Since being released in 2007, the Rock Band video game series has now compiled over one billion dollars in North American sales volume. No doubt if the world wide sales figures were included the total would be much higher. These numbers are courtesy of a press release sent out by gaming company Electronic Arts.

In addition to the one billion in Rock Band video game sales, the series also enjoys revenue from the over forty million songs that are available for digital download. Also, the series sees no future stop in growth, as they are readying to launch a new edition which features songs, and even instruments from arguably the most popular band of all time, The Beatles. A PSP version of the series is also expected to be released in the near future.
